Steel Core Ammunition

It has come to our attention that places like Fleet Farm, Cabela’s, and several on line stores are selling steel core ammunition.

 

We’ve recently spent thousands of dollars on new bullet traps and this ammunition could damage those traps, as well as any other steel targets on the ranges. Because of the potential for damage, this type of ammunition will not be allowed on any of the ranges at OSC.

 

If you are not sure if your ammunition has a steel core, check it with a magnet. If the magnet sticks to the bullet, it has a steel core. Any members using this type of ammunition on Club grounds will have their membership privileges suspended. There are magnets on the metal target holders behind the benches on the rifle range. Please check your ammo before you shoot if you’re not sure. Thank you.
