Using .22 caliber rifles at 300 yards is quite the feat and all members and non-members are welcome to join this growing league.
The Buffalo League will shoot metallic knockdown buffalo silhouette’s with .22 rimfire. There are classes for:
- Scope
- Open Sights
- Tang Sights
The distances we will shoot at these targets are 100 yards and 300 yards.
The first Tuesday will be to set up equipment and have fun shooting at the buffs informally. The reason for this is that we may not have enough light to get full sets in for everyone and it will take some time for everyone to get their equipment as they want it. We plan to be ready to shoot at 9:00am am and continue till 3:00 pm.
Buffalo League Dates for 2023

There will also be a Summer Session beginning July 25, 2023 the will run through September 12, 2023
The End of Season Party is scheduled for September (TBA)
Rifle range in use from 09:00 am until 3:00 pm for the Buffalo League.
A few hints to get ready:
- If you can sight your rifle in at 35 yards to shoot 13.5 inches high you will be close at 300 yards.
- If you can not adjust to 18 inches high a 0.003 shim under the rear scope ring will do it. Burris signature rings set with 0.015 down front and 0.015 up back is an elegant way to do this.
- Hyper velocity stuff knocks down even the hard set targets.
- Many people think a .22 cannot be shot accurately at 300 yards. This is horse feathers we have run 7 or 8 straight a number of times. Plan to learn a little about wind, have a good time, and knock over a few Buffs!
Cost : OSC Members $4.00 per night – Non OSC Members $6.00 per night
